A
recent real estate scam is making waves in Hawaii, with scammers sending out letters posing as government entities to lure individuals and businesses into investing in non-existent properties. The letters often contain false information and are designed to deceive victims into parting with their money. In one notable case, scammers even impersonated actor Jason Momoa to gain credibility. However, Momoa has since come forward to deny any involvement, stating that he is not associated with the fake real estate opportunities.
The state's Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs is urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. If you have received a similar letter or have information about these scams, you can contact them at (808) 587-4272.
