High-Profile Realtors Arrested in Miami Amid Allegations of Sex Assault

Top real estate agents Tal and Oren Alexander, brothers of accused sex offender Alon, arrested in Miami.

F
ederal prosecutors in New York have accused top real estate agents Tal and Oren Alexander, along with their brother Alon, of drugging and raping "dozens of victims" over more than a decade. The brothers allegedly used their wealth and positions to facilitate opportunities for rape and sexual assault, often luring women with luxury travel to destinations where they were then assaulted.

According to the unsealed federal indictment, the brothers worked together and with others to carry out the sex trafficking scheme. They allegedly arranged events and international trips as "bait" to entice women, who were then frequently assaulted. The indictment also describes how the brothers would procure drugs, including cocaine and GHB, a date rape drug, before events.

Tal Alexander faces an additional count of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion. If convicted, the brothers could face prison sentences of 15 years to life. Separate charges have been filed against Oren and Alon in Florida related to alleged sexual assaults.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, urged federal judges to keep the brothers detained, citing their ongoing danger to the community and risk of flight. An attorney for Oren Alexander has denied any wrongdoing, stating that "the evidence will show that neither he nor his brothers ever committed a crime."

The Department of Justice is still investigating allegations against the Alexander brothers, and prosecutors are urging others with information about the case to come forward. Several women have previously filed civil lawsuits in Manhattan accusing the brothers of sexual assault, which they have denied.

The indictment describes a range of methods the brothers allegedly employed to facilitate their scheme, including using physical force, drugging victims, and coercing them into traveling or meeting at private locations. The investigation has found that the Alexander brothers have been raping and sexually assaulting victims for over 20 years, starting when they were in high school.

The U.S. Attorney's Office is working with law enforcement agencies to bring those responsible to justice and provide support to the victims.
