O
ver four decades, Tim and Margie Creamer’s property at 3275 Cemetery Road, Marietta, has evolved from a neglected fixer‑upper into a year‑round lakeside retreat. Initially a weekend camp for summer weekends, the house grew into a five‑bedroom family home filled with memories, and now serves as a quiet retirement sanctuary. In 2001 the living room was updated, and the fireplace has become a beloved winter focal point. The Creamers’ journey reflects the transformation of a modest lake house into a cherished home. Author Johnathan Croyle, who covers Central New York history and nostalgia for Advance Media New York, has chronicled this story. He joined the company in 2000 and writes the weekly House of the Week feature and obituaries. Courtesy of Amanda Decker.
