Howard Hughes Taps Seasoned Executive for Summerlin Project Leadership

oward Hughes Holdings (NYSE: HHH) has appointed Jose Bustamante as President of the Nevada Region, effective December 1, 2024. He will lead the Summerlin community in Las Vegas, which spans 22,500 acres and is home to 127,000 residents with 5,000 acres set aside for future development. With 20 years of real estate experience, Bustamante has managed projects totaling 7 million square feet and 700 acres valued at $5 billion. His background includes roles at Lincoln Property Company, Irvine Company, and Hunt Companies.

    Summerlin, now in its 34th year, boasts over 300 parks, 200+ miles of trails, and Downtown Summerlin, located nine miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Bustamante's appointment is expected to drive growth and development in the community, which has significant potential for expansion.

    Bustamante brings a strong track record of leading high-performing real estate organizations, with experience in strategy and planning, capital markets, entitlements, construction, and asset management. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Partner at Lincoln Property Company, driving master planning, development, and stabilization of multifamily, office, life science, and retail properties.
