A
rizona Land Consulting (ALC), a data centre investment fund led by Anita Verma-Lallian, has made a significant move in the state's AI infrastructure race with a $51 million land deal. The acquisition strengthens ALC's position as a key player in Arizona's tech boom and was backed by prominent investors, including Chamath Palihapitiya, a well-known Silicon Valley venture capitalist.
The partnership between Verma-Lallian and Palihapitiya is seen as a major alignment of vision for America's AI future. "This $51 million acquisition is a declaration that the future of AI infrastructure will be built on Arizona soil," Verma-Lallian said, highlighting the growing momentum behind Arizona as a hub for AI and advanced computing.
The newly acquired land is strategically positioned among high-profile neighbours, including Bill Gates, and is well-suited to support America's lead in AI. The project can accommodate over 1GW of power and is ideal for mission-critical data centres due to its disaster-resistant geography.
Key factors driving ALC's acquisition include energy innovation, a pro-growth environment in Arizona, and the prime location of the land asset amidst the state's tech boom. "The AI opportunity can only scale if we have the infrastructure to support it," said Ethan Agarwal, managing partner at DYA Capital, which is partnering with ALC on the project. "Suitable land for data centre development is in short supply, and this is the most attractive project I've seen."
