Inside Kelly Clarkson's Expansive Real Estate Holdings

Multihyphenate's "forever home" is actually out West, not New York City.

K
elly Clarkson's homes are scattered across the country, reflecting her love for different regions and aesthetics. A Texas native, she first gained fame after winning American Idol in 2002 and has since amassed a diverse real estate portfolio. Although she hosts her talk show in New York City, she doesn't plan to relocate permanently. Her Manhattan residence is rented, while she also owns homes in Montana, California, and Tennessee.

Clarkson's favorite home is her ranch in Montana, which she considers her "forever home." The property features a cozy two-bedroom cabin where she can truly be herself. In contrast, her other properties showcase her more extravagant side. For instance, her former estate in Mansfield, Texas, was a 6,880-square-foot traditional-style residence with multiple pools and dog runs.

Clarkson's Nashville real estate ventures include a modest stone cottage purchased for $1.5 million in 2007 and sold four years later for $1.2 million. In Tennessee, she also owned an impressive waterfront mansion that she extensively remodeled before selling it for $6.3 million in 2021. Additionally, she bought a 275-acre farm in Lebanon, Tennessee, which she later sold for $3 million.

On the West Coast, Clarkson and her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock custom-built a modern farmhouse in Encino, California, for $8.5 million. The property featured eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and various amenities like a home theater and wine cellar. After their split, the couple sold the house for $8.24 million.

Clarkson's Montana getaway is a two-bedroom ranch that she considers her "forever home." She built additional cabins on the property to accommodate visiting friends and family. In 2021, she purchased a Colonial-style dwelling in LA's Toluca Lake neighborhood for $5.445 million, which became a fresh start after parting ways with her ex.

In 2023, Clarkson moved to New York City with her children, renting a home just a few blocks away from Central Park. She has expressed excitement about this new chapter of her life and finding unique ways to make the city residence feel like home.
