oe Cotter, founder of National Resources, a developer based in Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away suddenly at his New York City home on Friday. He was 66 years old and died from a heart attack, according to Lynne Ward, the company's co-founder. Ward praised Cotter for his accomplishments, saying he had developed visionary projects that benefited communities he cared about. She also highlighted his strong family values and ability to connect with people on a personal level.
National Resources will continue working on its existing and planned projects despite Cotter's passing. The company has redeveloped over $2 billion worth of urban and industrial sites, employing nearly 100 people. Under Cotter's leadership, National Resources transformed the Yonkers waterfront by redeveloping the former Otis Elevator complex into a mixed-use development with office space, residential units, and a film studio.
The company has also developed other notable projects, including Hudson Harbor in Tarrytown and Edgewater Harbor in New Jersey. In 2022, National Resources' entity iPark purchased a 28-acre campus in Yonkers to build a production facility. Additionally, a joint venture between Great Point Studios and National Resources secured financing for a new film studio project in Yonkers that will span over 112,000 square feet.
