John Stamos' ex-'Tacky AF' home now priced down by millions

John Stamos' Calabasas estate, dubbed a "giant box of tacky," returns to market at huge discount after viral $13M listing.

J
ohn Stamos’s former Calabasas mansion, once dubbed a “giant box of tacky,” has re-entered the market, now priced at $7.25 million—a steep cut from its original $13 million asking. The 8,147‑square‑foot property, built in the early 1990s during Stamos’s “Full House” heyday, first drew attention for its eccentric exterior and was later purchased in 2020 by Republican hopeful Justin Aguilera and his wife, Candace. They invested roughly $3 million in a sweeping overhaul that kept the Mediterranean façade intact while transforming the interiors into a bold white‑black‑gold palette.

The revamped home boasts seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The main living area features a book‑matched panda marble floor, a dual‑sided fireplace, and a striking crystal chandelier. Each bathroom showcases a unique marble finish, and every toilet is gilded. The overall aesthetic is unmistakably opulent, a departure from the original “very ’90s” design.

When the remodel was unveiled on IG Mansion’s Instagram, the response was mixed. The post sparked nearly 900 comments, many labeling the décor as “tacky AF” or “a giant box of tacky.” Stamos himself replied, noting that he had sold the house years earlier and that it had been “redecorated.” His comment earned over 3,000 likes, with fans expressing relief and admiration for his taste. Some viewers even joked about the absence of Disney motifs, referencing Stamos’s self‑described “Disney adult” persona.

Despite the backlash, a few luxury‑savvy followers praised the mansion, with one remarking, “Let me get my checkbook,” and another expressing a desire to live there. Whether the negative buzz prompted the price reduction remains unclear, but the property was taken off the market and subsequently relisted at the lower figure.

The property first appeared on the market in April 2023 with a $13 million asking price, but after a brief stint of interest it was withdrawn. The new $7.25 million listing reflects a strategic price cut aimed at attracting buyers who appreciate the bold design.

The current listing is managed by Tomer Fridman and Lior Totaiv of Christie’s International Real Estate SoCal. The Post reached out to the listing agent and the owners for comments, but no response has been received yet.
