Julian Lynch to Depart Real Estate After Summer Tour

Julian Lynch to Leave Real Estate After Upcoming Tour Dates

G
uitarist Julian Lynch has announced his departure from Real Estate, effective after their upcoming tour dates with Tennis. Lynch joined the indie-rock band in 2016, following the departure of guitarist Matt Mondanile due to allegations of misconduct.

In a statement shared on social media, Lynch expressed gratitude to his bandmates and fans for the experiences they've shared together. He also thanked the kind and talented people he's met or worked with during his time with Real Estate. Lynch will appear at upcoming shows with Tennis before moving on to other projects.

Lynch grew up with founding members Martin Courtney, Alex Bleeker, and Mondanile, and the three musicians collaborated on Lynch's project Lese Majesty while in college. He launched a solo career and contributed to various music projects within the Real Estate ecosystem, including albums like Atlas and In Mind. Following his announcement, Courtney commented, "Guitar buddies for life. Regular buddies too."

Real Estate will kick off their tour with Tennis tomorrow at The Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO, followed by a run celebrating their album Atlas in September and October.
