tone Point Capital, a private equity firm with significant investments in the real estate sector, has acquired an ownership stake in Keller Williams. This move marks a new chapter for Stone Point, which has invested nearly $6 billion across various companies in the industry. The exact investment amount and ownership percentage were not disclosed.
As a seasoned investor, Stone Point has a proven track record of partnering with late-stage companies, typically investing between $75 million and $750 million. Led by Charles Davis and James Carey, the firm has offices in New York, Florida, and Connecticut and boasts over 145 investments worth more than $35 billion.
Stone Point's real estate portfolio is substantial, with $5.8 billion invested in 25 companies across finance, mortgage firms, and technology companies like CoreLogic and Lone Wolf. The firm acquired a controlling stake in Lone Wolf in 2020 and partnered with Insight Partners to buy CoreLogic for $6 billion in 2021.
Beyond real estate, Stone Point invests in insurance, finance, and healthcare companies. Notable investments include Alliant Insurance, Everbank, and Lincoln Property Company, demonstrating the firm's diverse portfolio and expertise in various sectors.
