T
hree Knoxville real‑estate firms—Wallace, Keller Williams, and Realty Executives Associates—have jointly released a public service announcement about new national home‑showing rules. The update, applicable to all U.S. licensed agents, now mandates that buyers sign a written agreement before viewing any property.
The agreements are short, one‑time documents tied to individual appointments. They clarify expectations, explain the purpose and scope of each showing, and do not create a financial obligation for the buyer. “Buyers deserve accurate information from the start,” said Wallace CEO Andrew McGranaghan. “A clear explanation helps them understand what they’re signing and why it matters.”
McGranaghan emphasized that this is a national standard, not a company policy, ensuring a consistent, transparent process for all buyers and building trust in transactions. The agreements are simple, time‑limited, and outline the services and costs involved, strengthening transparency amid increasing buyer questions.
The firms stress that showing a home without a written agreement violates national standards. Their collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to transparency, professionalism, and consumer education in Knoxville. Wallace remains dedicated to providing clear, consistent information regardless of the agency a buyer chooses.
