evittown has undergone a transformation from its mass-produced American dream roots for World War II GIs to a more diverse and upscale community. The hamlet still boasts amenities like eight pools, sports fields, and Levittown Hall, which hosts free events for locals. Residents show community spirit by voting on the best-decorated houses for holidays and participating in projects like installing a gazebo at Veterans Memorial Park.
A former Cape and ranch home resident, Louise Cassano, notes that original homes are becoming endangered as families add on or expand. Levitt & Sons' covenants requiring properties be sold only to whites have been lifted, allowing minorities and more affluent buyers to move in. The community's proximity to top shopping areas and New York City attracts buyers.
In the past five years, many rebuilt and supersized homes have listed for $1 million or above, changing the landscape and making some residents uncomfortable. However, prices remain lower than surrounding communities, reflecting Levittown's blue-collar roots. Chris Costa, a Coldwell Banker agent, notes that upscale neighborhoods with renovated homes are attracting high-earning professionals.
A single condo is on the market for $390,000, while between September 2023 and 2024, there were 356 home sales with a median price of $650,000. The population is 50,804, with a median age of 42.3 and a median home value of $677,500.
A Levittown home listed for $1.1 million features a two-story-high entrance, modernized kitchen, and fireplace. Another home on the market for $849,999 has six bedrooms and an updated electrical system. A third home priced at $569,000 is a 1948 Cape made partly of stone.
Recent sales include a $1.5 million Colonial-style home built in 2024 and a $820,000 Colonial-style home built in 1948. There are currently 48 listings on OneKey MLS, ranging from $390,000 to $1.4 million.
