anhattan real estate agent Gail Bomze, 75, was arrested in the Hamptons after allegedly biting a child during a free concert. The incident occurred at the "Tuesdays on Main" beach concert series when an event staffer tossed a T-shirt from a balcony, triggering a chaotic rush. Witnesses reported seeing a woman kicking and punching kids while trying to grab the free item.
According to police reports, one child told authorities that Bomze grabbed her right arm and bit it, breaking the skin and leaving the youngster's arm bloody and swollen. The child's parents contacted police, who initially searched the venue but didn't locate the suspect at the time.
Bomze's lawyer, Christopher McGuire, denies the allegations, stating his client was actually a victim during the incident. He claims Bomze was knocked to the ground by a group of teenagers and received an apology from event organizers with assurances that safety improvements would be made.
Gail Bomze has established herself in New York's high-end real estate market and Upper East Side social circles. She sold talk show host Geraldo Rivera's apartment for $4.1 million in 2016. The free concert series, which has been running for four summers, has a strong safety record, according to its organizers.
Following her arrest, Bomze was issued an appearance ticket and released. Her lawyer plans to defend her against the charges of third-degree assault and endangering a child.
