I
n a milestone moment for her hometown, Waycross native Kristie Anderson has made history as the first black broker and owner of a real estate brokerage in Waycross. Her journey to this achievement began on Elizabeth Street, where she grew up and now proudly stands as the founder of Honeyland Properties Real Estate and Property Management.

A 1995 honor graduate of Ware County High School, Anderson's path was set for success when she earned her BBA in Marketing from Georgia Southern. After two decades in Atlanta, she returned to Waycross in 2021, driven by a desire to be closer to family during the pandemic. However, it was upon her return that she discovered a pressing need for affordable housing in her community.

With a newfound sense of purpose, Anderson pursued a real estate license and began working with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in July 2021. Over the next three years, she helped over 150 families achieve their dream of homeownership. Her dedication and expertise earned her broker status in September 2024, paving the way for Honeyland Properties to become a reality.

As a committed community volunteer, Anderson has served on the board of the Okefenokee Alliance for the Homeless (OATH) from 2022-24 and is currently an active member of the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) committee. Her grant writing skills have also been instrumental in supporting non-profit organizations focused on youth initiatives in Ware and Pierce counties.

For Anderson, Honeyland Properties represents a beacon of hope, bridging the gap between affordable housing and those who need it most. As she looks to the future, her faith and passion drive her to continue being a catalyst for change in her community.
