cGrath Real Estate Partners Secures Zoning Change Approval

Lafayette County officials have given the green light for a zoning change on approximately 50 acres of land along CR 300, paving the way for a new student housing and single-family residential community. The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors approved the transition from R-1 to R-3 zoning, enabling McGrath Real Estate Partners to meet the growing demand in the area.

The county's rapid growth, driven by the University of Mississippi's expansion, has created a pressing need for more housing options. With no other land zoned as R-3 within the county, this development will offer greater capacity with reduced environmental impact. Site planning and design are underway, with construction set to begin in late spring 2025 and completion expected in Summer 2026.

This project aims to provide a sustainable solution to the rising demand for housing in Lafayette County and Oxford. By allowing higher density, the community will be able to accommodate more residents while minimizing its footprint on local land.
