uxury homes in Los Angeles County continue to attract buyers, with a Pacific Palisades property taking the top spot last week. The 500 Toyopa Drive estate, listed for nearly $13 million, was the county's highest-priced signed contract, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report LA. The home, owned by Bryan Biniak and Song Oh since 2013, boasts a 20-foot waterfall, koi pond, and wraparound glass and woodwork. With six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and nearly 8,700 square feet on a half-acre lot, the property is listed by Marco Rufo of The Agency and Jennifer Portnoy of Compass.
In Hermosa Beach, a South Bay property at 2965 La Carlita Street was the second-largest home under contract. Listed for just under $12 million after several price reductions, the new build features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 7,832 square feet with ocean views from each floor except the basement. The listing is held by Jim Leonard of Vista Sotheby's International Realty.
Countywide, 28 contracts were signed during the week ended October 13, totaling $172.3 million in asking dollar volume. This compares to 27 contracts worth $208 million in the prior week.
