ouston's high-end real estate market saw a surge in luxury home sales last month, with multiple multi-million-dollar properties changing hands. According to property records from HAR.com, May was one of the busiest months for luxury home sales in Houston.
A record-breaking sale took place in River Oaks' exclusive Tall Timbers section, where a 16,635-square-foot estate on Inverness Drive sold for $13,995,000. The mansion, built in 2009, was listed and sold by Nan & Company Properties' Nancy Almodovar.
Just days later, another notable listing appeared on the same street: a 7,473-square-foot home at 4004 Inverness Drive, originally built in 1974, was listed for $8,850,000. Almodovar represented the seller, while Compass RE Texas' Mike Mahlstedt represented the buyer.
In the Memorial Villages, a newly built estate in Hedwig Village closed for $6,990,000. The 14,654-square-foot property on Beinhorn Road was sold on May 15 by Laura Bonck of eXp Realty LLC.
Other significant listings included:
* A $6,900,000 estate in Hunters Creek Village's Hunterwood subdivision
* A 1929-built River Oaks mansion on Kirby Drive, listed at $6,595,000
* Two homes on Shadder Way in River Oaks, priced at $6,000,000 and $5,000,000 respectively
* A 1996-built home on Shadder Way, which was one of the top luxury sales in River Oaks last month
Outside Houston, a waterfront home on Christmas Tree Point Road in The Enclave at Pirates Cove in Galveston sold for $5,250,000. In River Oaks, a custom 8,114-square-foot home on Meadow Lake Lane sold after being listed for $5,400,000.
