T
he estate of Fritz and Lucy Jewett has reduced the price of their 10,200-square-foot mansion on San Francisco's Billionaires' Row by $6 million. The new asking price is $32 million. George Jewett, son of the late philanthropists, made the adjustment in response to recent sales in the area. Two high-end properties sold within a few months have set a new benchmark for luxury homes in Pacific Heights.
Listing agents Joe Lucier and Stacey Caen of Sotheby's International Realty cited the confidence of wealthy buyers as a factor in the price cut. The mansion, built by the Jewett family in 1987, boasts four bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin Headlands. It features a grand entryway, solarium, full-service bar, and seven-car garage.
The property was previously listed for $38 million, making it the priciest home listing in San Francisco at the time. The reduction in price is seen as a strategic move to attract buyers in the fall market. George Jewett III inherited the 0.2-acre property from his parents, who were heirs to the Weyerhaeuser lumber fortune.
