A
$50 million mixed-use development in Mansfield, about 20 miles southeast of Fort Worth, has hit a snag due to Hoque Global's failure to meet its December deadline. The developer is seeking an extension from the City of Mansfield after missing the deadline to begin pouring the foundation for the project along Smith Street. The project aims to revitalize downtown Mansfield with residential units, office space, and a civic plaza.
Hoque Global had previously secured an amendment to extend the timeline for vertical construction until December 2024, but this deal also required the developer to pour the foundation by the end of last year. The firm encountered environmental challenges at the site and is working with the city on revising the contract. If the contract isn't amended, the land purchased for the development could revert to city ownership.
This delay marks Hoque Global's third missed deadline, following criticism from Fort Worth over its handling of the Evans and Rosedale Urban Village project. The company disputes the reasons for its removal from that project, which was subsequently awarded to Royal Capital.
