Nashville developer Mark Deutschmann's quirky path to the Entrepreneur Center Hall of Fame featured orcas and juggling.

M
ark Deutschmann has blended preservation with progress, turning the historic Werthan Mills complex into lofts while pushing for Nashville’s greenway expansion and attainable housing. His path to Music City was unconventional—working with orcas, nearly lost at sea, ending up on a two‑person island, mastering juggling up to seven balls, and founding Village Real Estate in 1996. He was recently inducted into the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s Hall of Fame.
