Owner of defunct Marshfield firm Success Real Estate indicted Monday on embezzlement, DA Tim Cruz says.

S
uccess Real Estate, a Marshfield‑based firm, has its owner, realtor Stephen Webster, indicted on embezzlement, larceny over $1,200, witness intimidation, and false financial statements. A Plymouth County grand jury returned the indictment on September 12. Webster was arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida, on September 30 and is held at the county jail. In January, 13 agents sued the company, alleging Webster embezzled funds after announcing the firm’s December 14, 2024 closure. The lawsuit says commission checks issued to agents bounced, and seven agents are owed $105,033.70 for checks dated December 2–9, 2024, which were to be held in escrow. Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said Webster will appear in Palm Beach court next Tuesday, after which he will be extradited to Massachusetts.
