n a testament to his unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact, Matthew Bellisle, P.E., WEDG Associate and Chief Operating Officer of Pare Corporation, has been honored with the 2025 Humanitarian Award by the Providence Engineering Society. This prestigious recognition is a fitting tribute to Bellisle's three-decade-long career as a leading civil/geotechnical engineer in the northeast United States.
Beyond his impressive professional accomplishments, Bellisle's dedication to community-driven projects and volunteer work has been a hallmark of his character. For over 30 years, he has lent his expertise to various initiatives, including annual trips to LaRomana, Dominican Republic, where he has contributed to the construction of critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Locally, Bellisle's volunteer efforts have had a profound impact on the community. As Chairperson of the Missions & Outreach Committee at First Baptist Church in Wickford, RI, he has overseen a program providing meals for underprivileged individuals every Sunday afternoon for over a decade. His leadership extends to his role as Chair of the Pastoral Search Committee and member of the Finance Committee for the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island.
Bellisle's commitment to mentorship and education is evident in his work with students at the University of Rhode Island, where he provides guidance, participates in mock interviews, and advises the "Engineers Without Borders" student chapter. His professional affiliations include prominent organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), where he has presented and moderated presentations on critical dam infrastructure.
As a respected leader in his field, Bellisle's contributions to industry organizations have been invaluable. He has served as Chair of the Environmental Business Council's (EBC) Dam Management Committee and developed an educational program for the EBC's New England Dam Safety Director's Annual Leadership briefing, which he moderated for seven years.
