ercedes-Benz is relocating its research and development division in Silicon Valley to a single location. The company will consolidate its operations from three buildings to one, with the new office set to be announced this year. The move comes as Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its electric vehicle capabilities, developing powertrains for models such as the EQ and AMG lines.
The current headquarters at 309 North Pastoria Avenue in Sunnyvale will be vacated, with the company leasing all three of its current buildings in Silicon Valley. While a new site has not been disclosed, Mercedes-Benz is expected to make an announcement about its relocation plans this year. The research division was founded in 1994 and has previously leased offices in Palo Alto before moving to Sunnyvale in 2013.
