aseball star Francisco Lindor's pending deal led Manhattan's luxury market last week, with the New York Mets' shortstop purchasing a penthouse at EJS Group's 200 East 75th Street for approximately $20 million. This sale was the most expensive home to find a buyer between December 9 and 15, according to Olshan Realty's weekly report.
The six-bedroom, six-bathroom apartment, Unit PH5, spans 5,300 square feet with three terraces, 11-foot ceilings, and a gas fireplace. Douglas Elliman's Dan Benichou represented Lindor in the deal. The building's sales team, led by Alexa Lambert, Susan Wires, and Marc Achilles of Compass' new development marketing arm, has seen buyers sign contracts for about half of its 36 units since launching sales in March.
The Upper East Side abode was one of 31 homes in Manhattan asking $4 million or more to land inked deals last week. The total was down from 34 contracts signed in the previous period. The second priciest home to find a buyer was a penthouse at 56 Leonard Street, with an asking price just under $20 million.
The combined asking price of the 31 properties was $262 million, averaging $8.5 million and a median of $6.9 million per home. The typical property spent nearly 550 days on the market and was discounted 7 percent from its original listing price.
