Doral real estate broker pleads not guilty to new charge in Biscayne Bay boat crash.

A
Doral real estate broker, George Pino, has pleaded not guilty to a new charge related to a fatal boat crash on Biscayne Bay. Prosecutors added a manslaughter charge against 54-year-old Pino, in addition to the existing vessel homicide charge he was already facing. The charges stem from a Labor Day weekend crash in 2022, where investigators say Pino's boat collided with a channel marker, throwing passengers into the water.

Seventeen-year-old Luciana Fernandez died as a result of her injuries, while her classmate Katerina Puig suffered life-altering injuries and is still recovering. Both charges carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. Pino's next court appearance is scheduled for late September, with a trial date set for June 2026.
