IAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Twin brothers Oren and Alon Alexander, 37, remain in custody as their Miami-Dade court hearing is postponed to Thursday, according to their attorney Joel Denaro. The Alexanders, accused of running a sex trafficking ring dating back to high school, were arrested last week.
Their older brother Tal Alexander, 38, remains at the Federal Detention Center in Miami after a federal judge denied him bond on Friday. Magistrate Judge Lisette Reid rejected a defense proposal that included $115 million in pledged real estate assets due to the severity of the allegations.
The brothers face federal charges for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, stemming from crimes allegedly committed between 2010 and 2021. FBI Special Agent Justine Atwood testified that evidence includes text messages, videos, photos, and testimony from about 40 women who described similar experiences.
Miami-Dade prosecutors have also filed state cases against the twins for alleged sexual assaults in 2016, 2017, and 2021, including an alleged gang rape involving a family friend. The Alexanders' families are under scrutiny, with Oren's wife deleting her social media accounts after his arrest.
Federal prosecutors say the brothers targeted dozens of victims, some of whom have since come forward with civil lawsuits. "This investigation is far from over," said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. "If you have been a victim of these crimes or have information, we urge you to come forward."
The Alexanders will remain in custody until their first federal court appearance, after which a pre-trial detention hearing will be scheduled. They will be transported to federal court by U.S. Marshals.
