Michigan waterfront estate with Hemingway ties seeks $15M buyer

Randall's Point estate on Walloon Lake features a main log home, guest cabins, and 2,100 sq. ft. of lake frontage.

P
atrick Leavy of Kidd & Leavy Real Estate calls the 15-acre estate on Balsam Lane in Boyne City one of Michigan's most iconic waterfront properties. The property, known as Randall's Point on Walloon Lake, features a main log home and three guest cabins along with over 2,100 feet of lake frontage. It was purchased by the Randall family in the early 1900s.

Leavy notes that the property has a rich history dating back to the 1920s when Mr. Randall and Ernest Hemingway would hunt on the property's centuries-old red and white pines. The property's main log home, built in the 1970s, underwent a major renovation in 2001 and features a self-contained master suite, hardwood floors, and walls of windows.

The estate includes three cabins: the Point Cottage with one bedroom and loft, the North Nest Cottage with four bedrooms, and the Mess Hall with three bedrooms. The property offers panoramic views of Walloon Lake, allowing for breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on both sides. It's currently listed for $18 million.
