M
otek, the rapidly growing chain of Mediterranean cafés, has announced its fourth Manhattan spot. Happy Corner Hospitality will launch the new outlet at 184 Bleecker St. in the West Village, the former location of Café Figaro. The lease is handled by KSR, whose partners include Carolina Azia and Samuel Chera. The 3,900‑sq‑ft space sits at the intersection of Bleecker and Macdougal and is slated to open in January. Founder Charlie Levy recalled, “In the ’90s this was my favorite place, so bringing Motek back feels like coming full circle.” Motek already operates at 928 Broadway in Flatiron, drawing crowds for hummus, mezze, shawarma, kebabs and steakhouse cuts, and has signed leases to replace Serafina at 2178 Broadway and Rue 57 at 60 W. 57th St.
