NAHREP's Support for Clear Cooperation Explained

National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals supports policy ensuring equal access to available properties for all buyers.

T
he National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) has come out in support of the Clear Cooperation Policy, which requires homes to be listed on the MLS within a day of being publicly marketed. According to NAHREP, this policy ensures all buyers have equal access to available properties, promoting transparency and fair housing in the real estate market.

The association notes that fair housing practices are crucial for dismantling systemic barriers that have historically disadvantaged Hispanic and other marginalized communities. With over 40,000 members and 100 chapters across the country, NAHREP is dedicated to advancing sustainable homeownership for the Hispanic community in America.

NAHREP points out that ensuring consumers and agents have fair and transparent access to real estate information is essential in addressing housing discrimination. The organization believes that private listing networks (PLNs) risk creating a two-tiered system that excludes underserved buyers, including Hispanics who have faced discrimination in the past.

The future of the Clear Cooperation Policy remains uncertain, with no specific date for resolution by the NAR Leadership Team.
