Napa Valley estate with 40-acre vineyard seeks $100 million buyer

Glendale Ranch, near St. Helena, marks a new chapter after decades with one family.

A
2,000-acre ranch in California's Napa Valley is on the market for $100 million, offering a rare opportunity to own a sprawling property that includes commercial vineyards and four family homes. The Glendale Ranch has been in the same family since 1938 and boasts an extensive road system, winery barns, agricultural barns, and ponds.

The ranch's 40 acres of commercial wine production grow varietals like Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and more, with bottles sold to local wineries. The property also features a main house known as the White House, built in the 1880s, which includes original stained glass windows and unique wallpaper chosen by Lindsey Wiseman's great-aunt.

The sellers, Lindsey Wiseman and her husband Andrew Green, have two young sons who have enjoyed exploring the vast grounds, but they're now looking to sell so they can spend more time in England. Listing agent Erin Lail notes that properties of this scale are rare in the area, where parcels have been further divided over time.

Wiseman hopes a buyer will preserve the property's integrity and not subdivide or develop it extensively, saying it would be "a huge mistake" to alter its current form. The ranch has a rich history, with wine production dating back to the 1880s and resuming in the late 1970s. Today, over 50 people work on the property during the growing season.

The sale of Glendale Ranch is an opportunity for a buyer to own a piece of Napa Valley's history, with its unique homes, vineyards, and natural beauty making it a truly special property.
