ashville business leader Bill Freeman has passed away at the age of 73. A major real estate developer and Democratic fundraiser, Freeman was a driving force behind Nashville's commercial growth through his company, Freeman Webb. He also worked in politics, raising funds for various candidates, including former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Freeman served as treasurer of the Tennessee Democratic Party in 2009 and ran for Nashville mayor in 2015. Current Mayor Freddie O'Connell remembered him as a "real estate visionary, mayoral candidate, pilot, media magnate, staunch Democrat — and friend."
