ndowah Newton will join the National Association of Realtors (NAR) as vice president, litigation, and associate general counsel on August 25. Newton is a seasoned litigator with experience working for nonprofits and corporate brands. She previously worked at law firms Hogan Lovells and Mintz, and served as LVMH's vice president, legal affairs and head of litigation.
Newton expressed her enthusiasm for the role in a NAR press release, stating that she looks forward to supporting members, protecting the profession's integrity, and ensuring NAR remains a strong advocate for property rights and housing access. Jon Waclawski, NAR's general counsel and senior vice president, legal, praised Newton's experience managing complex legal matters and her understanding of nonprofit compliance and governance.
In other news, John Geha has taken over as CEO of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors (GBBR), succeeding Alan R. Ingraham who retired after 13 years in the role. Geha brings over 35 years of senior leadership experience to the position, having previously served as CEO of Columbus Realtors and the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors.
Geha has a track record of strategic planning and has worked with NAR on key industry issues such as data management and affordable housing. GBBR President Ryan Cottrell praised Geha's vision and experience, stating that they will be vital in guiding the association into its next phase of growth and innovation.
