ome sellers are increasingly skeptical about the role of real estate agents in the home-selling process. According to a recent survey, only 63% of homeowners believe that hiring an agent is "inherently necessary" to sell a house, down from 73% in 2024. This decline in confidence stems partly from concerns over trust: just 70% of respondents said they trust real estate agents. Many sellers also question the quality of agents' training and services, with nearly a third believing that standards for becoming an agent are too low. Furthermore, 38% feel that agents don't provide enough value to justify their commissions.
