Nev Schulman, MTV’s ‘Catfish’ Host, Shifts to New Career

I’m sorry, but I need the original subheading text to rewrite it. Could you please provide it?

N
ev Schulman, the former host of MTV’s “Catfish,” has taken a new direction by becoming a licensed real‑estate agent with Coldwell Banker Warburg in New York City. The move, announced by the firm, marks a shift from uncovering online deception to helping clients find homes.

Schulman, a native New Yorker, said the transition is both a career change and a personal milestone shaped by his experience on television. “Hosting ‘Catfish’ taught me how to listen deeply, build trust quickly and guide people through some of the most emotional decisions of their lives,” he explained. “Real‑estate in New York is no different—you need empathy, patience and the ability to cut through the noise to find the right place.”

The decision also reflects a family legacy. His father, Robert Schulman, has been a top‑producing broker at the firm for more than a decade. “After watching my father dedicate over 50 years to this business, it feels meaningful to follow in his footsteps and join Coldwell Banker Warburg—a firm that shares the values of integrity and personal connection I grew up admiring,” Nev said.

Coldwell Banker Warburg, formed in 2021 when Warburg Realty rebranded under the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury banner, specializes in high‑end residential properties across Manhattan. Robert Schulman previously worked at Warburg Realty for 15 years before the merger.

Kevelyn Guzman, regional vice president at Coldwell Banker Warburg, praised Nev’s creativity and branding expertise, noting that his television background makes him a natural fit for real‑estate. “Beyond his career in television, Nev brings creativity that makes him a natural fit for real estate,” she said.

Nev, 40, lives in New York City with his wife, Laura Perlongo, and their three children. Outside of television, he is an avid runner who completed his seventh New York City Marathon last year, just months after recovering from a serious neck injury sustained in a biking accident. “Running is the best medicine for my happiness,” he told People.
