Nevada tops US in real estate agent population expansion

Nevada attracts most new real estate agents nationwide despite Las Vegas' housing market downturn.

N
evada has seen a significant influx of real estate agents, with the state adding 1,140 agents from 2022 to last year, according to a study by Flatworld Mortgage Solutions. This surge puts Nevada at the top of the list, surpassing Tennessee and Missouri, which added 850 and 770 agents respectively. California, North Carolina, Texas, and Florida were among the states that lost the most real estate agents.

The growth in Nevada's real estate industry is attributed to the state's thriving economy, rapid population growth, and strong demand for housing. "Nevada's leadership in real estate agent job growth could be attributed to its favorable climate, affordable living options, and a strong economy," said Rajeev Kumar, executive vice president at Flatworld.

However, despite this growth, Las Vegas is experiencing a residential real estate slump. The number of licensed members of the Las Vegas Realtors group has been dropping, from 16,967 in 2022 to 15,920 last year. The typical sale price for a single-family home in Las Vegas increased by 6.6% last month, but supply continues to outpace demand, with homes sitting on the market longer and sales declining.

Nevada leads US in rapid growth of licensed real estate agents statewide.
