New Signage Unveiled in Slinger, Wisconsin

VIDEO: New Street Sign Unveiled in Slinger, WI Near Kettle Recreation Center and Jug's Pub

T
he Kettle Recreation Center and Jug's Pub & Grill in Slinger are making progress with new street signs now up on Highway 60. The exterior of the building features a dark facade with light brown accents along the roofline and surrounding doorways. At night, the signs will be backlit.

In early November, the entire parking lot will be pulverized as Kearns and Jug get closer to opening. The Kettle Recreation Center will offer a blend of traditional and new wave bowling experiences, including HyperBowling with video game-like technology. A 66-foot wide and 7-foot-tall LED screen on the back wall will display advertising or people's names.

The building addition includes a full-service commercial kitchen with a 1,100 sq. ft. dining room, an outdoor patio seating area where alcohol may be consumed, four indoor golf simulators, a large arcade space, four outdoor pickle ball courts, and four outdoor volleyball courts. The parking lot will be reconstructed and expanded, including new lighting and an electronic message board.

Steve Kearns' goal is to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment venue for Slinger, featuring a huge gaming room with two 15-and-a-half foot golf simulators and outdoor space for pickleball and volleyball courts. A wall will separate The Kettle from the restaurant, which will have three 75-inch televisions.

Kearns plans to open in November 2024. He aims to give the building character by punching out ceiling tiles, adding more light with large windows, and installing overhead steel beams and decorative pallet boards. The biggest addition will be the restaurant, featuring a full menu from Jason Jug of Jug's Hitching Post.

The Slinger Village Board will take up the location and licensing next week. Kearns plans to knock down walls, create an expanded kitchen with walk-in coolers, and relocate/add two more bathrooms. Target opening for 'The Kettle' is November 2024.
