T
he National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is expanding its presence in Midtown, signing a lease for 21,000 square feet at the iconic Fred D. French Building, located at 551 Fifth Avenue. This move marks a significant shift from their current location at 292 Madison Avenue, where they will relocate and nearly double their space.
The NWSL's new headquarters will be situated on a full floor of the landmarked building, which is nearly 90% leased. The organization's growth has been substantial since its relocation to New York from Chicago in 2022, with Lauren Lopez, chief people & culture officer, noting that the new space "reflects the tremendous growth" of the league.
Feil Organization's commercial leasing head Andrew Wiener hailed the move as a "new chapter in this iconic tower's legacy." The NWSL was represented by CBRE's Conor Denihan and Patrick Moroney, while Feil was repped in-house by Wiener, Kevin Driscoll, and Henry Korzec.
Meanwhile, Feil Organization is also undertaking a major project at 140 W. 57th Street, where they are converting the office landmark into a luxury condominium with BLDG Management Co. and the Nakash family. The development will feature 47 units behind the building's Neo-Gothic facade, with construction set to begin this spring and be completed by the end of 2026.
