eal estate experts Dolly and Jenny Lenz are sounding the alarm that a Zohran Mamdani mayoral win in New York City could lead to an exodus of residents. The Democratic socialist's proposals for multi-year rent freezes and public housing investments, aimed at making the city more affordable, might actually stall its housing market. According to the Lenzes, clients are already preparing to leave the city due to concerns about Mamdani's policies.
"People are saying, 'If he gets in, I'm out,'" Dolly Lenz said on FOX Business' "The Claman Countdown." They're planning to move to places like Greenwich, New Jersey, or Florida. The Lenzes have seen a surge in calls from people who want to list their apartments and leave the city.
Mamdani's campaign has focused on making New York City more affordable for residents, but his proposals might have unintended consequences. The Lenzes believe that rent freezes could bring the housing market to a standstill, leading to an outward migration of residents.
