T
he Ambassador Hotel, a Dallas landmark that stood for over 100 years before being destroyed by fire five years ago, is being reborn as a multimillion-dollar apartment complex. OHT Partners has begun construction on the site at 1300 South Ervay Street, where three buildings will rise with a total of nearly 300 apartments. The project, expected to be completed in mid-2026, will retain the Ambassador name and incorporate some of the original design elements from the historic hotel.
The complex will feature a unique amenity deck on its third floor, offering residents a lounge, pool, and fitness center with stunning views of downtown Dallas. Underground parking will be available, along with units ranging from studios to two-bedroom residences, as well as coworking spaces, a small market, dog park, grooming stations, and package lockers.
Corgan's Stephen Lohr, who leads the firm's multifamily studio, says the project aims to blend historical significance into its modern design. "I hope it can be a benchmark for that area of the Cedars and inspire others to continue development," he said. The Ambassador Hotel's legacy will live on through this redevelopment, which is expected to be a catalyst for more housing in Dallas.
