n 2024, Palm Beach shone brightly in the spotlight, with two of the country's highest-dollar residential sales taking place on the island. According to Mansion Global's year-end roundup, these deals ranked No. 2 and No. 3 behind a $210-million sale in Malibu, California. The most expensive transaction was a mega-mansion on Tarpon Island, which sold for $150 million, while the second-highest sale was a landmarked oceanfront estate on North County Road that fetched $148 million.

The billionaire buyers of an Aspen, Colorado property, Steve Wynn and Thomas Peterffy, have primary homes in Palm Beach. They paid $108 million for the Colorado house, which ranked No. 7 on Mansion Global's list. Eight other Palm Beach sales were recorded at $49 million or more, including a vacant lot that sold privately for $85 million.

Here are Palm Beach's 10 highest-dollar deals of the year:

    * $150 million: A renovated-and-expanded mansion on Tarpon Island became Florida's highest-dollar residential deal in 2024. The property was redeveloped by Todd Michael Glaser and features 11 bedrooms, 28,618 total square feet of living space.

    * $85 million: A vacant lot measuring about an acre with 225 feet of direct beachfront sold privately in April for $85 million. The buyer was a Delaware-registered limited liability company named after the property's address.

    * $81 million: A 1970s-era beachfront house that was the longtime vacation retreat of Louise Riggio and her late husband, Leonard, sold in November for $81 million. The estate measures 1.68 acres with about 205 feet of beachfront.

    * $60.37 million: Interior designer Victoria Hagan and her media-investor husband, Michael Berman, sold their extensively renovated 1924 house via an off-market deal in May for $60.37 million. The sale likely set a Palm Beach price record for a non-waterfront estate that did not involve a house swap.

    * $51.63 million: Completely rebuilt by Jeanne S. Siegel and her late husband, investor and businessman Herbert J. Siegel, this 1952 mansion in the Estate Section sold in July to Geats LLC for $51.63 million.

    * $50 million: Billionaire investor Harvey Cooper Jones sold this vacant lakefront lot for the same price he had paid for the property in 2023, $50 million.

    * $49 million: The estate and children of the late industrialist and entrepreneur William "Bill" E. Flaherty sold their lakefront house in Midtown to a Delaware-registered limited liability company named Ocean Breezes 2 LLC for $49 million.

The highest-dollar condo sale was recorded at $15.7 million, with the off-market sale of an oceanfront penthouse in Midtown's Kirkland House condominium building setting a building price record and being the third-highest dollar sale ever of an oceanfront condo in Palm Beach.
