Luxurious Home Features Four Bedrooms, Seven-and-a-Half Bathrooms, and Two Master Suites with River Views.

P
alm City — The former estate of billionaire business and sports mogul H. Wayne Huizenga has hit the market for a record-breaking $45 million, making it the most expensive real estate sale in both St. Lucie and Martin counties' history. Huizenga's longtime home, located at 13054 NW Gilson Road, boasts an impressive 17 acres with 800 feet of St. Lucie River frontage, one of the largest riverfront lots on the East Coast.

The waterfront mansion features four bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms, and two master bedrooms with a spacious patio offering panoramic views of the river. Other notable amenities include a 10-car garage, tennis court, detached gym, dedicated animal storage, pond, private gated entry, and a dock equipped with a boat lift.

Huizenga's daughter, Pam Huizenga, took over the estate in 2015. Real estate agents Tyler Potts and Alex Burns of One Sotheby's International Realty are listing the property, describing it as a "reflection of the legacy of one of South Florida's most iconic figures" that combines historical and natural allure in a unique way.

Huizenga built his business empire from scratch, starting with a single garbage truck in 1968. He founded Waste Management Inc., Blockbuster Video, and AutoNation, making him the first entrepreneur to launch three Fortune 500 businesses in his lifetime. He also owned the Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, and Miami Marlins sports teams, with the Marlins winning the 1997 World Series under his ownership.

The estate's listing highlights its exclusivity and natural beauty, with Potts noting that riverfront properties usually have around 100-150 feet of frontage, making Huizenga's property truly unique. Burns added that the property's scale and views are unmatched, making it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for potential buyers.
