ulu Simon, daughter of legendary singer Paul Simon, is furious with Richard Gere over the sale of her childhood home in Connecticut. The 31.8-acre estate was purchased by Gere in 2022, and he allegedly promised to "take care" of the land as a condition of the sale.
However, Lulu claims that Gere never actually moved into the mansion and instead sold it to real estate developers who plan to demolish the property to build new houses. The home was divided into nine separate plots for resale.
Lulu expressed her outrage on Instagram, posting an edited photo featuring her deceased pets surrounding a picture of Gere. She captioned the post: "I hope my dead pets buried in that backyard haunt you until you descend into a slow and unrelenting madness." Lulu also stated that she still hates Richard Gere.
The property had been owned by Paul Simon, who bought it for $16.5 million in 2002, but he and his wife Edie Brickell took a loss when they sold it to Gere for $10.8 million in 2022. After owning the property for just two years, Gere and his wife Alejandra sold it to real estate developers for $10.75 million in October 2024.
Lulu Simon has released original songs and attempted to follow in her father's footsteps as a musician.
