Pennsylvania State Dept. Launches Spanish Real Estate Exam Options

Harrisburg, Pa. — Al Schmidt says PA real estate sales and broker license candidates can now take the exam.

H
arrisburg, Pa. – Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced that Pennsylvania’s real‑estate sales and broker license exams are now offered in Spanish. “This progress reflects the Shapiro Administration’s commitment to removing barriers to professional licensure,” Schmidt said, adding that allowing more applicants to take the exams in their native language expands accessibility and makes the state a more attractive place to work.

Pearson VUE, which administers the four exams (two for salespersons and two for brokers), partnered with an experienced Philadelphia‑based translation firm to render the tests and accompanying study guides into modern Spanish. The materials went live on Nov. 1.

Spanish‑language exams are currently available only in person at test centers; online testing remains English only. Test takers who choose Spanish may switch any question to English, but those who start in English cannot view the Spanish version. The fee structure is unchanged: each sales exam costs $49, or $49 for both if taken on the same day; the broker exams carry the same rates. Language selection does not affect the fee.

The translated exams and guides provide a valuable resource for applicants, instructors, and other stakeholders, broadening access to licensure across Pennsylvania.
