akland County prosecutors have charged 28‑year‑old Amanda Escalante‑Lopez with ten felonies tied to a real‑estate scam. Since 2024, she allegedly forged land‑contract and title agreements for Pontiac homes she did not own, promising buyers access, keys and ownership after down‑payments. The indictment lists three counts of false pretenses ($20,000‑$50,000), three counts of false pretenses ($1,000‑$20,000), one count of larceny by conversion ($20,000+), and three counts of larceny by conversion ($1,000‑$20,000). Prosecutor McDonald said the case “goes beyond theft; it robs people of the security and dignity of home ownership.”
