yle Huckabee, a 38-year-old licensed Realtor in Oregon and Washington, has found an unconventional way to stand out in the competitive real estate market. By moonlighting as Emo Realtor on social media, he creates music videos about Portland real estate that are both catchy and cutting. His alter ego's songs, such as "Portland East Side Breakdown," tackle topics like gentrification and classism with lyrics like "Alameda Hills broke my will to live / Cardio and classism, what a gift!"
Huckabee started posting these music videos in May as a creative outlet, but they've unexpectedly boosted his engagement and business. His Instagram following has grown by 20,000 followers in the past 90 days, and one of his recent listings in Vancouver, Wash., received seven offers and sold in just 11 days after he created a death-growl-filled video for it.
Huckabee's sellers love the unique approach, and while he doesn't have a music background, he does have experience in the entertainment industry. He was a cast member on Season 3 of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé, which followed his relationship with his wife Noon after she moved to New Orleans to be with him. The couple has since celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and now lives in Portland, where Noon works as a cat groomer.
