P
rintemps, a renowned French luxury department store, is set to make its US debut in March at One Wall Street. According to developer Harry Macklowe, this highly anticipated launch will bring much-needed retail to the FiDi neighborhood.
The 55,000-plus square-foot fashion emporium on Broadway between Wall and Exchange Streets will be a significant addition to downtown Manhattan. Shoppers will access two selling floors through the restored Red Room of the landmarked Irving Trust tower, a dramatic space recently designated an interior landmark by the city.
Macklowe's office-to-condo conversion project at One Wall Street is expected to benefit from Printemps' arrival. However, it remains to be seen whether this will boost apartment sales, which have been sluggish with only 113 units sold out of 566 since the project began.
