rologis has withdrawn its bid to purchase the former Oakland Raiders headquarters and training facility in Alameda for $24 million. The San Francisco-based real estate investment trust had initially offered to buy the 16-acre property, which includes a 100,600-square-foot former headquarters and an 18,400-square-foot training facility, from the City of Oakland and Alameda County.
The reason behind Prologis' withdrawal remains unclear, but city documents indicate that it "elected not to proceed" with the purchase last month. The deal would have kept the Oakland Roots and Soul soccer teams as long-term tenants, potentially serving as a venue for the 2026 World Cup.
Oakland Pro Soccer could now explore alternative options, such as purchasing the property itself or partnering with another entity to continue leasing to the two soccer teams. The City Council has considered approving changes to allow the franchises to seek a path forward, keeping the $24 million price tag unchanged.
The property's value was supported by an appraisal commissioned by the city, which deemed it fair market value. The former headquarters features a locker room, media production areas, and indoor whirlpools, while the training facility includes an indoor fitness area and outdoor pool.
