The idea came after a 97‑year‑old client told him she would spend Thanksgiving alone. He proposed to his mother that they organize a pre‑Thanksgiving gathering for seniors in the Capital Region who lack nearby family. The free event, designed to provide a warm meal and a chance to make new friends, has already filled the diner. Gucciardo plans to expand the gathering next year, hoping a larger venue will welcome even more elders and keep them from feeling isolated during the holidays.
