s a retired individual, I am firm in my decision not to support any additional tax levies following the recent exorbitant real estate assessments. This decision pains me as I have previously been an ardent advocate for schools and libraries.
I am curious about how these assessments were determined because two recently sold houses in my neighborhood, both larger in size and one of them completely renovated, were sold at $150 per square foot, while my property has been assessed at $177 per square foot. To challenge these numbers, I am required to obtain a professional appraisal.
I am also interested in knowing how much the real estate values have increased for each of our county council members and the county executive. There seems to be something fishy going on in Cuyahoga County, and as usual, in Columbus.
