Greenville-based real estate agent, David Hansen Lever, 55, has been arrested in connection with a triple homicide investigation in North Carolina. Lever is charged with three counts of murder after police found the victims with gunshot wounds at four different crime scenes. The investigation began on January 10 when detectives discovered the bodies.
According to authorities, Lever's connection to one of the victims, Enrique Reyes, is unclear, but he had a prior relationship with the other two victims, Tony Gribble and Paula Gribble, who used him as their realtor in 2014. The Gribbles' son held Lever at gunpoint after discovering his parents' bodies.
Sheriff Paula Dance said that if not for the son's quick action, Lever may have killed more people. Authorities found over 50 weapons inside Lever's home and firearms and ammunition in his van. Lever appeared in court on Monday and made a derogatory comment to the judge.
The victims were described as faithful and loving by their son, who also shared details about their military service and career achievements. Lever was a partner at Lever & Russel Real Estate LLC and owned multiple properties through the company.
